How do we book you?

I like to get to know a couple before they book me, so I always recommend having a good bit of communication between us first. This can be over the phone, through emails, socials, or a zoom call - whichever you’re most comfortable with. Basically, you need to be aware that I’m slightly socially awkward but so excited by weddings, and I want to bond with you a bit first. We both need to make sure we can trust one another, and get on well enough to think we’d enjoy a pint together.

The first step is checking out my availability, then get in touch. You can do that on the contact page or shoot me an email on hello@carolinegoosey.com

Have you been to our venue before?

According to Google, there are over 7000 licensed wedding venues in the UK (I know! I was surprised too). So, anyway, I’m always shooting at places that are new to me. Most of the work you see on my website is from the first and only time I’ve been to that particular place. To me, seeing a place with fresh eyes lights me up. I get to explore it and photograph it at the same time, and that is a creativity challenge I’m interested it. So I might have been to your venue before, but if I haven’t it’s really not that important.

Will you visit our venue?

Following on from the previous answer, I’ll rarely do a venue visit before the wedding day. 9 times out of 10 it’s just not necessary.

Do you include your travel costs?

I regularly travel around England and Wales to photograph weddings, and I don’t charge mileage for this*. However much I try, I haven’t yet discovered how to drive safely without sleep though, so sometimes a hotel stay might be needed. If it is, I’ll discuss this with you at booking. Single night hotel stays are included, but if extra nights are required the cost of a premier inn rooom will be added to your invoice.

*If you’re in Scotland, Northern Ireland or London and would like me to photograph your wedding, I’ll discuss travel with you as necessary.

How long does it take to get the photos/film?

Photo only bookings are usually turned around within 8 weeks of the wedding day, but during high season this can rise to 10-12 weeks.

Photo + video coverage usually takes up to 10 weeks, but can rise to 12. I’ll stay in contact with you after the wedding to give you a heads up if there’s a delay, but it’s never been an issue yet.

Can we meet you?

I’m always happy to chat with couples before they book me - it’s a great way to make sure you’ve got the right person.

I am available to chat over Zoom/Facetime on weekdays 9am to 3pm.

I do offer prewedding photoshoots with couples too! Get in touch if you want to add one on to your package.

What do you shoot with?

I want to give a really sarcastic response and just say ‘cameras’ but the internet famously doesn’t enjoy sarcasm 🫠 I use Fuji X-T5s and various other gubbins that make me happy.

We’re not sure which package we want, but we know we want you…

So many of the couples I work with book a base package and then add things on to it as their wedding day approaches. I get it - when all those deposits are getting paid at the same time it can feel like a huge commitment, so you’re always welcome to revisit what’s booked in and add on to it.

The questions barely anyone asks, but I’m going to answer anyway because I think you should know.

Describe your style

I hate this question but it comes up from time to time. My style is authentic, documentary, quirky, candid, creative, and according to a not-too-eloquent group of my peers, ‘feeling-ful’.

Are you Insured?

Yep. Indemnity and public liabilitied up the wazoo.

What happens if you’re ill on the wedding day?

I have an awesome network of talented photography buddies I can call on to stand in. We did this for each other during Covid, so it became something we all have a tested protocol for. Essentially, another pro photographer shoots your wedding but that’s it - I still handle the editing and all the aftercare.
